GameGune 2010 as part of the huge LAN festival Euskaltel Encounter in Bilbao Spain was always a good tournament for our Counter-Strike 1.6 team. After their silver medal in 2008, mousesports was able to claim victory at last years GameGune edition. Now they're competing again, but with a rather tough personal challenge: Due to the vacation of our two starting players Manuel "Tixo" Makohl and Roman "roman" Ausserdorfer, we've entered the tournament with our brave substitute player, Mr. Comeback kid himself - Christian "Blizzard" Chmiel, who have been a long-term mousesports member aswell as the young talented player Dominik "d0m AZ" Wrabetz who's normally playing for ESC Gaming in the ESL Pro Series.
With several other top teams like Natus Vincere, fnatic and Frax eXecutors attending, it will be a tough challenge for our guys. However, first day of action turned out to be quite promising: With 75:15 in rounds our team managed to win all their three groupstage matches to claim 1st spot in group C. In group A Na'Vi won with 65:25 rounds and 3-0 while fnatic managed to boost their round winnings to 69:21 in a 3-0 record. In group D Polish team Frag eXecutors claimed 1st spot with a 3-0 record aswell (67:23 in rounds), while Spanish team B4G won group E with 3-0 and 73:17 in rounds. Group F and G are yet to be played.
We'll keep you updated as the action continues on day 2 of GameGune 2010!
