They have been with Karont3 for a year and a half by now, although many have tried to strengthen their roster with them, but today the two StarCraft II brothers Pedro "mouz LucifroN" Moreno Durán and Juan "mouz VortiX" Moreno Durán are officially joining mousesports. Alongside reigning ESWC World Champion Grzegorz "mouz MaNa" Komincz and EPS Champion Dennis "mouz HasuObs" Schneider, aswell as the rising stars Gabriel "mouz HeroMarine" Segat, Chris "mouz Illusion" Lee and Dan "mouz hOpe" Gustafsson, they will form the most powerful StarCraft II division in franchise history ever.
The two Spanish brothers are looking forward to their engagement in one of the world's best professional gaming teams. As former WarCraft III players, both are no strangers to future mousesports Hall-of-Famer Dennis "mouz HasuObs" Schneider, aswell to the whole RTS community, due to their achievements in WC3 and StarCraft II as of late. VortiX, the younger of the two, is about to join his brother as a full time professional gamer, as both are looking to sharpen their skillset in the upcoming weeks drastically.
Both new mousesports players have shocked an entire community by demonstrating their strength at the Battle.Net European Championships in 2012, where mouz VortiX finished second and mouz LucifroN third. In 2013, they've accumulated several gaming championships, such as the first place at HP Trophy 2 as a team, second place at Ritmix RSL Season 4 (LucifroN), first place at IPL D.I.C.E. Showdown (LucifroN) aswell as first and second place (LucifroN & VortiX) at ESL Pro Series Spain Season 10.
While two new players join the team, one former player will leave: Jonne "Protosser" Sotala and mousesports decided to part ways. We would like to thank Sotala for his time in mousesports as he was always a very loyal and reliable player.
Statement Pedro "mouz LucifroN" Moreno Durán:
I started playing StarCraft II full-time around the start of 2013. While I'm very grateful to my former team and I don't have even the slightest complain about them, I believe it's time for me to move on. By joining mousesports I expect to bring my career to the next level. I'll keep practicing hard to win a lot with my new team in the following year as I feel they gave both VortiX and me a great chance that we couldn't ignore. Special thanks to all sponsors BenQ, GeIL, Razer and Thortech for making this possible and helping our dream come true. I think none of the parties will regret this choice, expect a lot of us in the future!"
Statement Juan "mouz VortiX" Moreno Durán:
It's so hard to say goodbye to a team that has supported me so much and has been my home for a year and a half, and I am very grateful to Karont3 for the time I've spent there, but I guess sometimes you just have to move on, and it's good to know when to do it.
Mousesports is one of the most accomplished teams ever in gaming and joining a team with this history is something that every player wants do to at some point of his career. The motivation that joining mouz gives me is something that I think I need to grow up as a player. In the last months I've been a bit stagnant as a player, but soon I'm going to go full-time progaming for a while and I think that this, together with the support I'm going to get by everyone in mouz, is going to be something that is going to make me get my top shape and be able to perform much better than what I've done this past year.
I'm looking forward to the second half of 2013 as summer is very close and that means I will have a lot of time to play, catch up with new strategies, and overall get better, and representing mousesports and its sponsors BenQ, GeIL, Razer and Thortech, I expect to be able to show very good performances during this last part of the year and regain the title of one of the very best Zergs in Europe.
Thanks for the chance and for the support, I'm sure I won't deceive the team!"
Statement Markus "mouz MaX" Kemper (SC2 Team Coordinator):
"I am very proud to announce the signing of both LucifroN and VortiX. This team will start a new era within mousesports, not only in team but also in solo tournaments. We are fully convinced that our approach as a team is still a best practice. With LucifroN and VortiX we not only welcome two of Europes strongest players, but also two heavy fan favourites, who will complete our team. We're looking forward to a long and hopefully successful cooperation with them. Special thanks to all our sponsors BenQ, GeIL, Razer & Thortech aswell as José of Karont3 for making this move possible."
