SC2 ESL Pro Series Spring 2012 - StarCraft II

HasuObs wins Pro Series over biGs

Written by René at 29.04.2012 - 21:50

Our German StarCraft II player Dennis "HasuObs" Schneider won his fourth ESL Pro Series title and his first in StarCraft II. In the Grand Final he defeated his teammate Han Sang "biGs" Cho with 3-1 in a Best-of-Five series to win the ESL Pro Series.

He was the first mousesports player to win an ESL Pro Series in WarCraft III and now he's the first player who wins an EPS title for mousesports in StarCraft II: Dennis "HasuObs" Schneider is the new reigning ESL Pro Series StarCraft II champion, by defeating his teammate and Zerg player Han Sang "biGs" Cho, who takes second place in his first ever ESL Pro Series season, with 3-1 in total.

Earlier the day HasuObs, who mainly practiced with his teammate MorroW to prepare for PvZ only, was able to defeat Alternate aTTaX competitor Jonathan "DarK.FoRcE" Belke on five maps in the semifinal series. After a convincing 2-0 lead it became a rough fight with DarK.FoRcE 6-pooling on the deciding fifth map. With HasuObs beeing aware of the threat and scouting early he managed to defend the Zerg's early push and handled the game like a true champion to advance to the Grand Final series.

In the other semifinal it was Zerg player biGs who was able to survive long enough by defending the early aggression attacks by the Terran player Carlo "ClouD" Gianacco, only to punish the Alternate aTTaX competitor for late game mistakes with a massive Brood Lord, Ultralisk and Infestor army, backed up by the well known Roach waves.
