CS ESL Pro Series Spring 2012 - Counter-Strike 1.6

EPS: 9th title in a row, 14th overall

Written by René at 28.04.2012 - 22:05

The mousesports CS 1.6 team has won its 9th consecutive ESL Pro Series championship, which also marks their 14th title overall and their last CS 1.6 grand championship ever. In the last CS 1.6 match of mousesports, they won 2-0 in a BO3 series against myRevenge.

It has been a troublesome ESL Pro Series season with mousesports suffering unusually many defeats, finishing the regular season only on 4th rank. But in the end, they've impressed with a rock solid performance in the playoffs, securing themselves the 9th consecutive ESL Pro Series championship in a row. With mousesports Hall-of-Famer Christian "Blizzard" Chmiel replacing Finn "Karrigan" Andersen who was released out of his contract prior the the EPS Grand Final series, the team led by Fatih "gob b" Dayik showed a strong performance on both maps.

It was a rather strange feeling, when the mousesports players were about to play their last CS 1.6 match after a decade of competitive gaming with the First Person Shooter. Defeating their opponents myRevenge e.V. in a Best-of-Three series and crowning themselves as ESL Pro Series champions again was the last effort of the successful mousesports Counter-Strike 1.6 squad, as the division will be dropped after April 2012.
