Sao Paulo here we come

From mousesports on

Happy days at the mousesports headquarters. The regular season of ESL Pro League season four is over and with a record of 18 wins and eight losses we finish on third place. That means: Vamos para o Brasil! We are going to Sao Paulo for the finals.

It was a great season by our guys, especially considering the changes the lineup had to undergo in between the matches. We brought seven players in total on to the playing field in season four. After a rocky start with two 0-2 losses, to both fnatic and NiP, we managed to turn it around with an 18-4 record against the rest of the league. Only losing four maps in total against the World elite of Virtus.Pro, G2, Na'Vi and Astralis.

Lets break the season down a bit. Our home grand prix this season was clearly Mirage, as we won 8 out of 9 match ups on this map, only losing to Astralis on the very last play day. Next up, suprisingly, is Train where we won both matches we played, each against Astralis and HellRaisers. We got three wins and two losses on Dust2 and on Cobblestone each, while only managing one win on Cache and Overpass. Nuke wasn't played at all. On an individual level Nikola "NiKo" Kovac got the highest rating out of all the players in the league with 1.28 and also holds the highest K/D ratio of all players with +142. On average the team achieved a 1.07 rating this season, a close second place behind NiP.

After an 8th place last season with a 9-13 record, this season has shown that the team is moving in the right direction. "I am really happy with the consistency the team has shown over the course of the competition. We improved on many aspects that we were lacking in the previous season, such as our map pool and the focus in the games against the teams that are in the bottom half of the table. Also good to see that our latest addition lowel finding his role right away", says mousesports CEO Cengiz Tüylü.

The ESL Pro League is far from over. After a stop at ELEAGUE Season 2 in Atlanta we are flying directly to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to compete in the season finals. "We proved that we can not only compete with the best teams but that we can beat them consistently as well. Good results in online league are only one side of the coin however, we now have to prove our results in the finals", says Nikola "NiKo" Kovac ahead of the team's trip to the United States.

A first taste of Brazil will be our group match at ELEAGUE against Immortals on the 21st of October. After the group stage we will head to Sao Paulo to compete in the ESL Pro League finals starting October 28th. Tune in and support the boys when they fight against the best teams on the planet.
