Last weekend, the mousesports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team has participated in the Gfinity CS:GO Invitational in Birmingham, UK. Four of the world's best team met in the National Exhibition Centre to win it all in the $100,000 USD tournament.
With one Best-of-five series played each day, mousesports started into the tournament on Saturday, taking on the Swedish team GODSENT. Both teams went into the tourney with new players, as mousesports has recently acquired Tomas "oskar" Stastny to their CS:GO roster, while GODSENT signed three former Fnatic players in the likes of JW, flusha & KRiMZ.
A rapid start for mousesports led to a 9-6 halftime score on Cache, but GODSENT struck back with a 10-2 scoreline in their favour, winning the first out of possibly five maps with 16-11 over mousesports. A crushing 16-5 victory on Mirage, followed by a narrow 19-17 overtime win on Dust II led to 2-1 lead and series match point for mousesports, with both teams heading to the fourth map, Overpass.
On Overpass, mousesports came off a great start, netting 13 attacker rounds in total in the first half, before closing the game (16-2) and the series (3-1) against GODSENT in style.
