This past weekend saw our recently added World of Warcraft lineup in attendance at the IEM Asian Championship Finals. Following a weekend full of action, our team walked out with second place and a spot in the grand finals.
We announced last week, our decision to re-enter the World of Warcraft scene after having no lineup for quite some time. Their first event under the mousesports tag was the recent Intel Extreme Masters Finals Asia event.
Other teams in attendance were SK Gaming Asia, Button Bashers, DKP WoW and more. In their opening match, the team fell early to GAMING WoW 2-0. Looking to make a run of it, they managed to tie things up. Unfortunately their luck ran out and lost to a close final 3-2 score.
Continuing on, the team managed to secure two final victories over SK Asia 3-1, and DKP WoW, 3-1 giving them first place in their group and moving onto the playoffs.
Entering the playoffs, their first matchup was against Death Blooms who's only loss in the group stage came to the eventual winners, ButtonBashers. This did not phase the lineup as they were able to take a commanding 4-1 victory, bringing them to the finals.
Here they met with Button Bashers who just defeated SK Gaming 4-1. Both teams split the opening two rounds however Button Bashers continued their second map momentum and secured the reamining three for a 4-1 victory and the first place finish.
The final top three placings are:
1.
Button Bashers
2.
mousesports
3.
SK Gaming
