Our lovely CS female player Svetlana "Svetaska" Alekseeva was interviewed by our official partner Razer. In the interview, she talks about her team, herself and the PET tournament, aswell as if she's still single or not. Additionally you can view some nice pictures!

As ladies, what are your biggest obstacles when people mostly view gaming as a male-dominated activity? What are the biggest stereotypes to being a female gamer?

 

[svetaska]: I don't even know what to answer. It's true indeed. Female gamers aren't less dedicated than males; we work as hard as them. The desire to win and the spirit of competition is the same. It's just that our way of thinking, our logic is a little bit different. Lately, more and more ladies are willing to play professionally and many new teams appeared. And I often get asked for advice on how to form a real team and how to practice properly. Competitive gaming can be interesting to both genders, so why shouldn't you be able to check it out, no matter whether you're boy or girl?

 

The main stereotype is that women will never be able to become as strong as men. Maybe that's even true. Nonetheless, I think that if a girl got the chance to play in a team with male professional players, she could keep up with them after some time. There are quite a few examples when a pro player offered help to a female gamer and soon she started to play significantly better."
