SteelSeries unveils new computer gaming mouse

Written by dos at 24.08.2007 - 13:34

SteelSeries has just unveiled its newest product on the Games Convention 2007. After having published a keyboard designed for gamers, the time has come to move over to gaming mice. In order to satisfy gamers worldwide, they have developed two mice which are adjusted to both FPS and real time strategy players. Players from teams such as Team3D, compLexity, mousesports, SK Gaming and Team NoA have worked along with the team and told their wishes and their needs which finally influenced the development of the mouse. Given this, unimportant features such as too many buttons were replaced by sensible ones giving the player an advantage.

Because of the heavy differences between FPS and strategy games, SteelSeries has decided to publish two mice. The SteelSeries Ikari Optical will from now on support shooter players with its optical sensor that ensures the recognition of fast movements. Real time strategy players, however, are moving their mice totally different with more precise clicks; thus, the SteelSeries Ikari Laser mouse features a laser sensor that doesn't miss a single action.

We have asked the Marketing Director of SteelSeries, Kim Rom, about this brand new mouse and what it is really about.
