CSGO ESL Go4CSGO #7 - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

mouz in Go4CSGO #7 Grand Final

Written by René at 20.08.2012 - 09:58

Our Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team managed to advance to the Grand Final of their first official CS:GO tournament. In yesterdays ESL Go4CSGO #7, Hughsy and his teammates went through six matches to face their Grand Final opponents.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is steadily gaining attraction among the FPS community: For yesterdays ESL Go4CSGO #7 tournament, a total of 128 teams signed up for competition with mousesports beeing one of them.

Starting in the first round, the team had no major problems vs. The AVENGERS, taking them out with a 16-5 victory before defeating German team Wild-Play in the second round with 16-6. In the third round the Polish team Make Some Noise tried themselves to face the reigning Copenhagen Games CS:S champions but failed to do so and lost 10-16 to mousesports in the process. In round four, the British mouz team met the likes of Teklubben from Norway, knocking them out 16-7 to meet one of their hardest opponents in the tournament, the Swedish team BuggIT in the quarterfinals.

With BuggIT winning the pistol round aswell as first weapon round, they've emerged as a serious threat for mousesports in the tournament. Concentrating on their own strengths, it was mousesports who slowly gained back momentum in the game, winning round after another to defeat the Swedes 16-12 overall and advance to the semifinals. In their last match of the evening, mousesports sealed their first Grand Final appearance in their first official CS:GO tournament with a 16-4 victory over Spanish team AuroraGaming.

The Grand Final will be scheduled for another date and ESL TV will broadcast the match on their IPTV stream. In addition, HLTV.org published an in-depth interview with Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn on their website.

Several mousesports players were streaming the whole tournament, including Daniel "RE1EASE" Mullan who peaked at a solid 1000 viewers on his first tournament streaming session. You can find all VODs of RE1EASE on www.mousesports.tv.
