This August 21-26, Campus Party, the world’s largest global technology festival, is coming to Germany. At Campus Party Europe in Berlin 10,000 talented minds will come together at the historic former Tempelhof airport, all equipped with laptops and sleeping bags, to exchange the latest news about innovation, creativity, science and digital entertainment 24-hours-a-day.
The gaming area of Campus Party Europe in Berlin will host one of Europe’s biggest multigaming eSports tournaments. Four open tournaments will have a total prize pool of $30,000 and in a professional League of Legends tournament gamers will compete for $25,000 in prizes. In an additional tournament, players will compete for the remaining amount, bringing the total prizes awarded up to $100,000.
The games that will be played at the open tournaments are today’s fan favorites StarCraft 2 and League of Legends, as well as Street Fighter IV and FIFA 12. While these four tournaments are aimed at semi-professional Campus Party attendees, the objective of the tournaments is to grow the global eSport community and unite gamers across Europe. The four major tournaments will be streamed online so people from all over the world can tune in and join in on the excitement.
