LOL Elite of Europe - League of Legends

mouz wins Silver Medal at EoE

Written by René at 18.07.2012 - 13:46

The mousesports League of Legends team made an impressive impact on the competitive League of Legends team, as they've won the Silver Medal at the Elite of Europe tournament, just narrowly losing to Curse in an intense third Grand Final map.

It all kicked off on Monday, with mousesports facing SK Gaming - a classic duel. While both teams have fought over years and years of competitive gaming in several disciplines,it was also a special day for both Dedrayon and Candy Panda, who played for SK Gaming for a long time before they joined forces with mousesports. After losing the first map to SK Gaming, the team managed to pull out a comeback to win 2-1 in a Best-of-Three series to advance to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, mousesports faced the likes of Moscow Five, the dominant Russian force in the League of Legends at the moment. Once again, mousesports lost the first map, due to a very nervous playing style, while both team met on the same level. After mousesports tied the game on the second map, the last map featured a near to perfect control by mousesports: After Prothana was able to get First Blood, he instantly went to bottom lane to zone out Corki and his Supporter for the whole laning phase, while Candy Panda and Dax rotated to top to 2v1 Moscow Five's Darien. With Corki falling behind with every minute it was a matter of time until mousesports wins the match by a brilliant rotation.

The Grand Final, which started after midnight featured both mousesports and Curse.eu, who knocked out Team Solomid earlier. First map went to mousesports in a baserace, while second map was Curse territory. Both maps were dominated by the team's Junglers, Dedrayon and Malunoo respectively. The third map saw an intense match with both teams almost on the same XP and gold level for most of the time, before mousesports made a move on Baron with Candy Panda shredding through the enemy champions, which secured mousesports a few tier 3 towers aswell as an inhibitor. In the end, Curse pulled out some good moves after some errors on mousesports side to win the game with a fast push onto the Nexus.
