Good evening. Introduce yourself first to the readers.
Drayich: My name is Kim Larsson, I'm 25years old. Other then DotA im working with immigrants and taking care of my family as well as playing some guitar too I guess and watching Pussycatdolls! I'm from Falun Sweden, My previous clans were Fat Controllers, SK Gaming and The Elder Gods.
Miracle: My name is Jesper Nyhlén, I'm 17 years old, I'm currently studying and playing DotA, I'm from Höllviken in southern Sweden. My previous clans were BTB, nD, sR, JadC
Lets start with some basic questions about DotA. How would you describe DotA to a guy which never heard of it?
Drayich: You know Warcraft III, the heroes? DotA is playing only the heroes in this mod, and instead of focusing on microing small units you now focus on the teamplay, to make the heroes cooperate well.
Do you think its hard for someone which is new to DotA to get into it?
Drayich: DotA takes some time to learn in the beginning, you need to understand the different Hereos abilities and also the different abilities that each items give you, however if you play it with a friend whos been along for a while its easier. And once you reached that stage when you actually understand the game its really fun and entertaining to try out different heroes and item combinations.
Why did you start playing DotA and how did you discover it?
Drayich: I was in my hometown doing my practical part of my education amd I was so bored. My wife was not with me and I was playing Coutnerstrike with my friends in the evenings. They forced me to start playing DotA and I hated them for it. Tidehunter was my first hero, it wasn't even funny. #dotapickup.euro (irc.quakenet.org) was the way to play back then and first you had to wait approximately two hours for a game, then the game lasted for four hours. No idea why I got stuck with such a dumb game, but these days it doesn't kill a hole evening playing the game so I'm happy I stayed.
Miracle: I remember that a friend forced me to join some games and I was doubtful about it in the start but after some days of getting killed over and over by my friends I started playing it more and more with other people and soon I started owning my friends.
Ingame screenshots from DotA. A lot of action going on!
Why would you recommend someone to watch Competitive DotA Matches if he wasnt introduced to the game it self?
Miracle: It's a really intense game and it's easy to learn, you don't have to understand it to appreciate all the action and teamwork involved.
Drayich: Yeah I agree, eventhough it's good to know some of the basics rules/strategies.
How do you think about the overall developement of the map, since Icefrog took over from Guinsoo?
Drayich: The best thing about the developement of DotA is that Icefrog made the games shorter. You don't need to spend like four hours for one game and you can do several games in that time to have more fun.
Miracle: The map is being balanced more and more with new heroes and items added from time to time.

Who is your favorite DotA Hero and your favorite Item?
Miracle: My favorite hero is Puck and the item is Sange and Yasha
Drayich: Chaos Knight and Mekansm.
Drayich's son and wife. A family besides DotA!
Ok lets do some questions about the overall development of DotA. This year DotA is the first time at the ESWC Overall Final. What do you think about it?
Drayich: It's great, the biggest step for dota so far. Still sad we weren't able to go.
Miracle: I think it's great that bigger tournaments open their eyes for DotA.
Do you think the organisation to qualifiy for the ESWC could have been better?
Drayich: Since we couldn't go the Paris, we didn't have any chance to qualify for the ESWC overall final at all. Only Germany and Russia had national qualifiers. They could have made better researches of where the top tier teams are from.
Miracle: Yes, they had almost no National qualifiers and Paris only offered 2 slots.
The greatest tournaments and leagues are hosted by private sites like dota-league.com and mymym.com. Do you think DotA does miss some acceptance in the overall esport business?
Miracle: Yes, people think DotA is easy and I don't think that the admins of the bigger e-sport sites really understand how complex DotA is as a game.
Drayich: I think dota still is fighting for its "right" to be called a e-sports, eventhough it seems like we are winning this fight in the longrun we are still in need of more and bigger events. Eventhough we got Asus and Dreamhack, and now also ESWC I think we are still a bit behind. The prize money for Dreamhack this year was 35000SEK in total while CS for example had over 100.000SEK
In the second part of the interview we are going to talk a bit more about the future of competitive DotA, the goals of the mouz DotA-Squad and about the new team members. Stay tuned!
