Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin
Age: 16
Nationality: Russian
Race: Undead
Dmitriy Kostin is one of the youngest Players belonging to the world's elite. The russian, currently living in Moscow, first entered the eSport headlines in 2005 as a part of the russian esports4extreme team. In the same year he had a short stay at Play.IT before he joined mousesports.
Happy is still going to school, moving to Europe or China after finishing it is already an option for him. Kostin could prove his skill several times by beating players considered to belong to the best of the world. With players like ToD in his team, the young russian will still increase his skill and surely can afford some suprises in the future.
How do you experience the communication inside the team, especially with the chinese players?
The communication in the team is pretty good, we don't have any troubles in talking or discussing something. About chineses – personally i'm not in contact with them just because nobody of them can speak english well.
Which personal goals do you have for this year and what do you want to achieve with your team?
My goals in this year is to attend as much tourneys as i can and help my team on team-leagues. Nothing exactly i can say about future till the summer when i'll end school and will decide how i will be continuing later.
How many hours do you usually practice a day? Do you play a lot with your teammates?
Well it's various, sometimes i practise much (up to 40 games or even more a-day), but sometimes i don't practice at all – for example when internet is bad or so, but mostly i practice at least 2-3 hours of pure gaming. Yes i practice with my teammates (except for chineses because there is so much lag).
Your mother lives in France and your father in Russia. Currently you spend most of your time in Russia. Did you ever think about moving to Europe?
Yes i thought about that but it's not easy as it seems to be. Of course i would like to live in Europe it's so much better life here and so on, but to move somewhere you have to study language, adapt to new conditions, you won't have friends here at the beginnng because you're new here and so on. So far i'm still thinking about it and can't tell anything exact about my my moving to Europe.
What are your plans after finishing school, can you imagine to join ToD, SaSe and Fly and play in China?
Of course i plan to continue my gaming career – but i can't really think about it since i have so much problems in my country considering army service and so on. So, my future is undecided and i cant tell anything exact.
You are one of the youngest Top-Players of the world, how does this affect the behaviour of other players towards you?
How do you manage the pressure out onto you, being called one of the best WarCraft players in the world?
Describe a usual day in your life.
When i'm not on weekend i wake up, go to school, come back, do whatever i want, mostly plazing WarCraft (practicing and so on). On weekends it's kinda same beside school. Sometimes i go out with friends but they are usually busy with studies, unlike me.
Do you have hobbys besides WC3?
